Over the past three years Sue Song, our co-founder and President, performed, taught and spoke at several locations in Italy including the Istituto Antonio Aveta (Pompei orphanage) and other disadvantaged children in Agerola, Amalfi, Ravello and in the poorest sections of Naples where our local partners Hearts Home and Efraim are located. Her more recent concerts included the Santabono Childrens Hospital Benefit Concert at San Carlo Opera House in Naples on December 15th with Danilo Rea and the nationally televised Concerto Epifinia. Sue also performed several times for the very elderly residents of the Nathaniel Witherell Nursing Center in Greenwich, CT and she is an advisor to Inspirica (www.inspiricact.org) in Stamford, Ct. where Amoris Foundation supports music programs for the children of homeless families.
Miss Song has performed in major concert Halls in Paris, Seoul, Sydney and New York, including three solo concerts at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. She has also given solo concerts in Italy, England, Ireland, Hungary and Australia, as well as throughout the United States. Her CD ‘SoundDreams” was favorably reviewed by Gramaphone and American record guide and her current CD is ‘Passion Remembered”.
The idea to start the Amoris Foundation was inspired by Sue’s friendship with a Korean nun, Sister Amoris, who she met in Alba, Italy ten years ago. Sister Amoris had the responsibility of ministering to terminally ill children and the elderly and she managed to do this with the bright light of love and grace that she expressed so freely. This inspiring relationship was the seed that grew that grew to become the Amoris Foundation.
